Two recently launched small businesses based in Lancaster have received unsecured loans from the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Central and Northern PA.

Benefix received $175,000 and Sustainable Composites received $100,000, the state-supported organization announced Wednesday.

Nine Pa. entrepreneurs earn chance to pitch AOL founder, win $100K

Nine budding entrepreneurs from Central Pennsylvania and neighboring regions will have an opportunity to make a pitch to AOL founder Steve Case next month for $100,000 in investment funding.

The companies will make their pitches to Case and a panel of judges when Case visits the midstate on Oct. 10 as part of his Rise of The Rest road trip.

9 finalists named for Rise of the Rest tour; 4 Lancaster startups in running for $100K from AOL co-founder

Four Lancaster companies are among nine central Pennsylvania finalists that will compete for a $100,000 investment in AOL co-founder Steve Case’s “Rise of the Rest” initiative.

They were selected from among 80 startups in the area, said Steve Fafel of Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Central and Northern PA, a state-funded organization that provides funding and consulting to early stage companies.
